How to drive webinar attendance
Here are a few ways to drive attendance to your webinars.
- Social media posts

From my experience, it is the most effective method to use email marketing to drive webinar attendance. The most success comes from this channel due to people already being on your list.
By signing up for your newsletter, people are stating they are interested in what you offer.
You can build up a large email list over time by placing opt-in forms within your posts. I recommend using constant contact for new bloggers that want to build an email list. Constant Contact has some great templates and an easy to use drag and drop email editor.
Here are three industry benchmarks to keep in mind when using email marketing.
The open rate is how many people opened your email. Also, keep in mind that:
Click-through rate pertaining to email marketing is the percentage of people who click a link within your email. The overarching goal is a conversion action above all. So it is also important to note that on average:
Here is a visual example of the typical flow of an email marketing campaign targeting webinar attendance:
Ten thousand emails were sent from an email automation service, with a 22.71% open rate and 2.91% click-through rate works out to 66 webinar attendees.
People will drop off from your funnel. Why? Well there is no simple answer for that. Some may not be motivated enough to attend, while others may not have time to attend.
Several factors exist, but you are not alone. It happens to everyone across every industry.
Here is an interesting statistic:
Given the metrics reported, you would think that webinars don’t produce results for generating sales, but you would be wrong. They most certainly do. Let’s keep going with the example of the 66 people you now have in attendance.
At the average industry benchmark of 20%(Conversion rate), you are now left with 13 people (66 x 20%) that turn into customers. Let’s say your product/service is $50. That would mean you earned $650 (13 x $50) from one webinar.
That is pretty profitable for one webinar, don’t you agree? Also, keep in mind this was just an example. You can have a more extensive email list over time and a higher price point depending on what topic you blog about.
For example, in the real estate niche, I have seen $200-$500+ charged for an overview of a special report for investors.
The finance niche can charge much more for comprehensive overviews of information generated, and the list goes on. Take the example given as the tip of the iceberg. You are not limited to just creating only one webinar.
I am sure you are saying, that sounds nice if I had a huge email list. I understand, so here is a tip.
Growth hack tip #1:
I highly recommend using webinars because they tend to work very well, and they are highly scalable, not to mention they can make a lot of money quickly.
Given the example, I ran through earlier with 13 buyers at $50, let’s say you have multiple evergreen webinars for different segments of your audience.
When I state segments, I am talking about multiple blog posts where you can prompt your audience to sign up for your webinar. You don’t want to direct each visitor to the same webinar.
I recommend creating segmented evergreen webinars. For example, a beginner-focused webinar sells a lower-priced product or service and ladder up from there.
Keep in mind this example can pertain to any niche.
- Beginner webinar segment # 1 conversions (10) priced at $50 = $500
- Intermediate webinar segment # 2 conversions (12) priced at $75 = $900
